Sign up with an email + password on the app, then tap the '+' on the map or 'Profile' > 'Add dog'. You'll be asked for their name, breed, DOB and photo. All optional — you can fill it in bit-by-bit.

Yes — the core social network, live map and walk tracking are 100% free forever. Physical GPS trackers cost £39.99 with a £4.99/month optional cellular subscription. Sponsored map pins are a paid upgrade for businesses.

Which countries does SnapDog work in?

The app works globally. Our maps, walk tracking, missing dog board and vet AI all work anywhere. UK-specific features like the National Microchip Sync and 24h emergency vet directory currently only cover the UK.

My dog is missing — what do I do?

Accepted Answer

1) Open the app and drop a 'Missing dog' pin on the map at your dog's last known location. 2) Go to /more and print a free QR poster PDF — every scan of the poster alerts you instantly with the finder's GPS location. 3) The Missing Board (/missing-board) auto-federates your report to the national feed.

I found a stray dog with a SnapDog tag — how do I contact the owner?

Accepted Answer

Scan the QR on the tag with your phone camera, or type dogsnap.co.uk/id/{id} where {id} is the 6-character code on the tag. The owner is notified instantly with your location and any message you leave.

Question 6

How do I delete my account?

Accepted Answer

Settings > 'Delete Account'. This permanently deletes your profile, dogs, walks, passport and all your posts within 24 hours. You'll receive a confirmation email.

Can I hide my home location?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Enable 'Home Zone' in Settings > Privacy — the map will automatically obscure any walks or pins within 200m of your home address.

Question 8

Can Vet AI actually diagnose my dog?

Accepted Answer

No. Vet AI is an informational triage tool only. It cannot diagnose, prescribe or replace a real vet. Always consult a qualified vet for real medical concerns. For emergencies, use the red SOS Vet button which finds the nearest 24h vet.

How do I list my dog park / vet / cafe?

Accepted Answer

Tap the '+' on the map, then 'Add Business'. Vets and pet shops are FREE forever. Other business types are £1/month via Stripe.
